It seems I’ve made it (somehow) to the final installment of my summer project. There have been some really exciting things going on around here, so it’s nice to actually have inspiration for pages to create.

Quotes from John Wesley and Saint Francis of Assisi. My idea of religion is doing good things, rather than proselytizing.
Each piece of folded paper has a secret written inside it (inspired by PostSecret).
I’ve known from the beginning that I’m not a terribly visual person — my way of explaining and describing the world always comes in words, rather than drawing, painting, or creating things out of cardstock.
I was frustrated by that aspect of this project from the beginning; try as I might, I just can’t make the journal look the way I want it to — or perhaps the way I think it should look. There’s too much blank space, and I don’t know how to improve that.
But at the same time…currently I’m making a living writing. It’s not always the writing I want to do, but it’s still happening.
And either way, I now have a cool scrapbook of my summer. It’s been quite a journey.
How did your summer turn out? What books have you been reading? What’s on your “to read” list for fall?
