Depending on whether or not you read my blog via email/RSS or “in person,” you may not have seen that I’ve added a 2013 Reading Challenges page. I’ve moped frequently about my apparent inability to complete more than one challenge so far, so this year I played it safe and signed up for three. 🙂 Chances are good I’ll finish at least one!
I’m not sure of my selections for the “Reading Outside the Box” challenge, but I’m leaning toward Kaui Hart Hemmings’ The Descendants and Tim O’Brien’s The Things They Carried, among a few other options. Hopefully I can find copies of both at the local library.
I’m most excited about the “Mount TBR” Challenge — I love checking things off, and my TBR list is getting a little unruly. Hoping to finish 12 books from various categories (and avoid adding dozens more).
Lastly, my first audiobook challenge. The company for which I work has recently moved to a nearby larger town, so my commute has gotten much longer (it went from eight minutes to 30-40). A friend of mine’s been pestering me to read Daniel Tammet’s Born on a Blue Day, and I’m hoping an audiobook will ease the sting of having to leave the house at 6:30am.
I’m looking forward to seeing how this year’s challenges go. 3, 2, 1, read!
Good luck with your challenges. My TBR list is getting a little crazy too.
Thanks, and good luck to you too! I think just about everyone’s TBR is getting out of control. I know mine is. 🙂
