To play along just answer the following three questions:
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What are you currently reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
Recently read
I was doing some traveling this past weekend, so my most current “recently read” is still Georgette Heyer’s The Corinthian. I’m still chuckling at some of Pen’s outlandish remarks, and Richard’s reactions to them.
Currently reading
I’m about halfway through Sin in the Second City: Madams, Ministers, Playboys, and the Battle for America’s Soul. I’m loving reading about the Everleigh sisters and their brothel, as well as the reformers who were trying to save the denizens of the Levee (the red-light district) from their own “sins of the flesh.” Hypocrisy abounds on both sides, as does bribery, shootings, poisonings, kidnapping, and murder. Not that fun a place and time in which to live, I’m sure, but it’s certainly making for interesting reading now!
Coming up next
I’m torn between Terry Pratchett’s The Wee Free Men: The Beginning and Lauren Willig’s The Secret History of the Pink Carnation. We’ll see what I end up being in the mood for.
What are you reading this week? Have you read any of these books? Let me know what you thought of them!
I read Hat Full of Sky, the sequel to Wee Free Men, and LOVED it. I vote for the Pratchett book next!
I may have started it last night. 🙂
