To play along just answer the following three questions:
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What are you currently reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
Recently finished
Finishing Bill Bryson’s At Home: A Short History of Private Life was unexpectedly sad. I really, really enjoyed it, and wish it was longer.
Currently reading
I’m a little less than halfway into Warm Bodies, but work has been stressful the last few days, so I haven’t been able to focus much on reading. Hopefully things should ease up after tomorrow.
Coming up next
I need to get cracking on the Back to the Classics Challenge, so I’ll be swinging by the library this week to get my 19th century classic: Alexandre Dumas’ The Three Musketeers. Looking forward to it!
I picked up At Home at one point and wasn’t able to get into it. I think it wasn’t a good time for me to read it because I was in grad school and busy with that. I think I’d like to try it again sometime because I’ve heard great things about Bill Bryson’s work and it sounds like something I would like.
I avoided picking it up for a long time too, mainly because it’s a chunkster and, like you, I don’t have a lot of free time to slog through what I thought was going to be similar to a history textbook.
My review’s not going up for a week or so, but I really, really loved it. You should give it another try. 🙂
