To play along just answer the following three questions:
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What are you currently reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
Recently finished
Wrapped up As Always, Julia over the weekend (that links to my review). It felt a bit slow at times, but I really liked it.
Currently reading
I’m about halfway through Manning Up: How the Rise of Women Has Turned Men Into Boys. I think the title was (purposefully?) misleading, because halfway through the author is still citing research about the job market and its expansion. There hasn’t been much evidence presented in support of the book’s title.
Coming up next
I just picked up The Happiness Project and The Great Typo Hunt. I’m a sucker for people who run around correcting grammar on signs, so I’ll probably read the latter first.
How’s your reading going this week?
I would have thought there would have been plenty of evidence to support the men to boys premise. False advertising!!! I guess you’ll have to see how it ends.
The Happiness Project sounds like it could be uplifting.

Tossing It Out
Wednesday November 16th.
I skimmed ahead in the book, and there are several chapters that relate more closely to what I thought would be the actual topic. I still think the title was a bit misleading, however.
I’m not sure where I first heard of The Happiness Project. From my boss or Shelf Awareness, one of the two. A good uplifting book is always good, especially as we get further into winter, which is always rainy, dark, and kind of dreary.
Manning Up sounds interesting but if it’s just all boring statistics I’m not interested.
There are a lot of statistics, and I must admit to some skimming. Overall though it’s really interesting reading, and I can’t wait to get to where she actually starts talking about men. Hopefully the book lives up to its title!
