Isn’t it amazing that you can be going merrily on through life with no idea that you’re missing out on something totally awesome, until a serendipitous occurrence shows you something new and totally cool?
That’s how I felt a couple of weeks ago when I saw my first book trailer. Yep, that’s right: they make trailers. For books.
Factoids
Although book trailers were being produced as early as 2002, it was 2003 before the first trailer was shown to the public at large.
Rather sadly (in my opinion) it was a trailer for the erotic fantasy novel Dark Symphony, by author Christine Feehan.
Even then, it wasn’t until 2005 that the concept of making trailers for books really caught on.
Often the trailers are produced by a book’s publishing company, but I’m particularly fond of the fan-produced trailers.
