(WWW Wednesdays is a meme hosted by Should Be Reading.)
To play along just answer the following three questions:
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What are you currently reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
Recently finished
I gobbled down Ariana Franklin’s historical thriller Mistress of the Art of Death over the weekend; it was scary and awesome and has—dare I say it—a great feminist main character. Did I mention it’s set in 1170?
Currently reading
Two reads right now. Brisingr, the third book in Paolini’s Inheritance series, is like candy for my brain; the other is Letters of a Woman Homesteader, and was the subject of this week’s Teaser Tuesday. No heavy reading this week.
Coming up next
I’m hoping to continue Franklin’s series with Serpent’s Tale, but my available brain space this week is pretty low. I may do a little book grazing/re-reading.
What are you reading this week?
Oohh I’m so glad you enjoyed Art of Death! It was good, wasn’t it?! I’ve got Serpents Tale on my TBR shelf too, but I’m not sure when I’ll get to it. RIght now I’m in the middle of rereading To Kill a Mockingbird. Man, I love that book.
It was excellent. I think I would have enjoyed it even more if I hadn’t just read The Hangman’s Daughter — there’s a lot of similarities, and they kind of overlap in my head. I grabbed the second book from the library, so I could read it any time in the next few weeks.
I haven’t re-read To Kill a Mockingbird since sometime during college. I watch the move with my mom every year, though. We both love Atticus.
Mistress Of The Art Of Death looks interesting. I hope you enjoy Brisinger.
It was a great read. A little gruesome, but I love the main character. And yes, liking Brisingr so far. But it doesn’t look like my local library has a copy of Inheritance yet; small-town libraries always seem woefully behind. 🙁 Hoping to find a copy somewhere else.
