To play along just answer the following three questions:
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What are you currently reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?

Gotta love vacation! Over the past week I gobbled up the remainder of Gods Behaving Badly, and inhaled The Castle of Otranto, Graveminder, and The Secret History of the Pink Carnation. I loved them all. The only downside is that I’m now even more behind on reviews!
Currently reading
On the plane ride back home I started on The Letters of John and Abigail Adams. I was afraid that it would consist only of letters about politics (not my favorite subject), but there’s a lot of talk of the family’s farm at Braintree, their family concerns, and Abigail in particular gives the reader a great idea of what the Revolutionary War was like for those who weren’t on the front lines. She was politically-minded herself, highly educated, and I like seeing her perspective on things. It’s clear that they loved each other very much.
Coming up next
With all the reading I was able to do over the past week, I’m now behind on reviews (yet again). I’ll probably be participating in the September 1book140 read (look out for the September short list), but other than that, I’m wide open. I’ve got some horribly long TBR lists, so I might make a trip to my local library and see what there is to see.
What’s your reading shaping up like this week?
When you get caught up in reading, it’s sometimes difficult to remember to write up a review.. you’re just looking forward to the next book! I do that too, and a couple of days later, I think “O yeah! I need to write my review…”.. hehe..
Thanks for stoppin’ by! Enjoy your vacation!
I try hard to write a review right after I read the book — if I don’t, I find that I forget the finer points of what I wanted to say (unless I took notes). But vacations make it hard to write reviews. Tragedy. 🙂
I did enjoy my vacation. I went to Colorado, which is much cooler than where I live! Happy reading (and reviewing).
I just did a review for Ghost on Black Mountain by Ann Hite. It comes out in September and may be a good read for you. I was blown away. I am so waiting for your review of Graveminder. It is on my TBR. It was good to read your take on The letter of John and Abigail Adams. I was afraid it would be kind of dry and pertaining to politics. Nice to know it is much more.

I just skimmed through your review — it certainly sounds intriguing. I’m adding it to my TBR list right now. 🙂 I like the original cover better, mainly because it seems more authentic. It’s in black and white, the dress is plain, etc.
I’m behind on reviews at the moment (well, as usual), but the Graveminder review should be up next week. Assuming I can get my act together.
I’m enjoying The Letters, but I’m at 191 of 284, and it’s getting just the teensiest bit tedious. I recommend breaking up the reading with a different book, one that’s lighter and fluffier.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend!
